Who we are
The Cambridge University Society of Women (CUSW) is a non-partisan organisation dedicated to providing a space for free speech, discussion and association between women. CUSW is proudly a single-sex, women-only environment with a membership open to any woman with a commitment to women’s sex-based rights and concerns.
Women can and should utilise their right to single-sex spaces for the purposes of safety, dignity and fairness. Maintaining an all-female environment for its own sake, however, is reasonable and justified. Women often self-censor in the presence of men and, increasingly, self-exclude from spaces that only purport to be ‘single-sex’.
We accept membership applications from any woman currently enrolled as a student at the University of Cambridge, as well as any alumna.
