Hiya! I came to Cambridge in September 2025, after finishing my undergraduate degree at the University of Bristol. I became interested in women’s rights and feminism in my early teens, after I enjoyed exploring the works of Alice Walker and Margaret Atwood. Through my study of women’s rights campaigns in the USSR, I developed an interest in the differences between movements led by men and those led by women. I am keen to talk about this and other topical points at CUSW socials and discussion forums. I’ve also done a lot of campaigning for and speaking on the importance of free speech on university campuses, where I believe that discussion and debate are important as tools for learning.

I also like playing traditional Irish music, drinking cider in pubs, sewing (badly) and going to festivals.

I am a second-year undergraduate reading Philosophy at Christ’s. A passionate advocate for freedom of thought and speech, I love a rigorous discussion, especially with those who disagree with me. With CUSW I hope to work on campaigns to end sexual violence against women and girls, and explore related issues such as sex-trafficking and modern slavery. Another particular interest of mine is the intersection of women’s rights and religion. Born and raised in London, I’ve searched the streets of Soho and Shoreditch in vain to find the perfect bar for women and lesbians, and intend one day to start my own.

I declared myself a feminist at the age of 11 after watching Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s TED talk “We Should All Be Feminists” and realising that women’s rights are still under attack around the world today. I got my start in advocacy when I was 15 as a climate activist, organising protests in Chicago, near where I grew up. I’m particularly interested in women’s issues in the Islamic world, as well as how we can restructure our own society to be less hostile to mothers. In my spare time, I enjoy knitting, running and hiking. My favourite feminist books are ‘Hags’ by Victoria Smith and ‘Right Wing Women’ by Andrea Dworkin.
